Then (HD-DVD Player)
Last month we discussed the new HD-DVD players coming out on to the market. One of the major problems with these players are they are only limited to regular DVD and HD-DVD playback. With more and more movies being released in dual formats, DVD or HD-DVD, this was a great product at the time. Another major point with this player is it does not play BluRay.
HD is good..when it is at maximum
HD-DVD players of then were good, until BluRay came out. The HD-DVD players came equipped with the ability to have resolutions maxed at 1080i, which is good, but for those people who love having absolutely stunning quality of pictures, this is not the best. While the HD-DVD players, are good for watching movies now, many of the new cd formats were not able to be played by these players. We have had numerous subscribers contact us to let us know about the issues they are having with playing new formats on these HD-DVD players. After doing some research, we have found that many of the manufacturers of these players, are making newer versions in which users can purchase to correct these issues. But with this announcement, do you really want to buy another add-on to this product or buy a new BluRay + HD-DVD player?
Why are these "then"?
With the HD market moving as fast as it is, it's only appriopriate that a previous "now" product is now a thing of the past. That's just the way things are. The core reason why this product is now listed as an outdated product is the fact that it does not support all current media formats and high resolutions. Even with the announced add on products, I don't see as many customers purchasing these, but buying whole new players that provide support for all formats and resolutions.
Conclusion
In conclusion, any customer who is looking for a good DVD player that supports HD formats, but not all formats, this is a good type of player to purchase. Also for a lower price than the newer, expensive players, these players are good for anyone on a tight budget.

Now (BluRay + HD-DVD Player)
This month we are thrilled to announce that a brand new player has come out that unlike, the previews player last month, can play both BluRay, HD-DVD and regular DVD. Although this player is rather costly, it is a great bargain for those who are interested in buying both HD-DVDs and BluRay discs. To add to the features, the component cables make the picture look very crisp on an HDTV that features the component or HDMI setup.
Wow that's clear!
BluRay is no joke, the quality level is amazing. The support for 1080p resolution gives an audience a feeling of actually being in the movie. In many instances we were able to see much higher details than other players before this type. Details such as bugs crawling on wood posts, things you would normally ignore because the clarity was not that clear, but now we can see those details when in focus. Our staff was blown away by these details and it's true, "Once you go BluRay, you won't want to go back."
Why "now"?
Other than mentioned before, these players feature HD component cables that allow really high-maintenance televisions to show their maximum potential. The feature to play backwards compatable media (CD / DVD / HD-DVD) allows customers to watch any of their previously purchased DVDs without any issues in playback. Obviously, the quality level won't be as great, but you don't have to worry about having multiple players. Finally, another great feature added to these players is their compatability for all current formats, as of the publishing of this article.
Conclusion
In conclusion, those true hardware geeks will really enjoy these brand new BluRay (HD-DVD) combo players. They are definitly on the cutting edge "now", and look to dominate the market for a long time. The price is a little heavy, but if you are looking for an all-in-one solution for DVD movies with all the HD compatability available currently, these players are exactly what you are looking for.
