Carbon X Laptop
The brand new, recently unveiled Carbon-X laptop is the next series of laptops from a new laptop manufacturer, ElementZ. With this new laptop, ElementX hopes to put their foot in the door of the industry. With a large 17 inch LCD HD display, 512 video memory and up to 4 Gigs of memory allows all customers to be happy.
The addition of a Blu-Ray drive allows users to watch brand new High Definition 1080p movies with stunningly crisp details. The addition of two built in speakers give a sense of a theatre but certainly no surround sound feeling. With HD audio software installed, the speakers provide a very strong and clear audio signal when watching movies or playing video games.
With a 512mb graphics card built in, anyone who wants to play the latest video games, can. Coupled with the ability to add up to 4GB of RAM makes this machine a dream machine for gamers. One of the only negative features from this laptop was the fact it runs very warm after a few hours of usage. In addition to the heat, the fans provided to keep the machine from overheating can become loud at times as the computer tries to take a breath.
Overall we were pleased with testing this new laptop and it's durability is certainly a strong selling (or buying) point to customers. The weight was a little heavy and amount of cords to plug in was a little excessive. Not to mention the power adapter was a little large. Maybe before this is released, they can solve these problems. For the most part we would recommend this laptop to future users looking to purchase an all-around high performance durable notebook. Just make sure you have a laptop fan or a cooler to provide for the heat. We look forward to seeing the final release of this laptop and to see if there will be any changes beyond our initial preview. As always, when this product is fully released to the public, we will be there to review it and may feature it in upcoming issues of our online magazine.
Ti-90x mp3 Player
We were happy to receive the new Ti-90x mp3 player. It is the 9th player to come out since 2000 from Titanium Electronics. This new version comes with a brand new software upgrade that allows it to sync with both Windows and Apple PC’s. With this software, currently of this review, we had trouble running it on Windows Vista intially. After searching Titanium's site, we found they had released a fix for the player. If you purchase this player, just make sure to get the fix as soon as possible, it'll save you trouble.
A brand new LCD screen provides stunning visualizations as you are listening to songs or radiocasts. One negative thing about this new player is currently does not support video. Titanium made it clear that this version of their player was all about portability. At 4.5 inches in height and about an 1 inch in width makes it small enough to fit in your pocket. Although it is soo small, it is not small in terms of the number of songs it can hold. Currently this version of the mp3 player can hold around 5,000 songs, depending on the average length of songs. To those who have thousands of songs, this is a big point to remember.
The price is another positive we found. For just above $125, you can get more than an average 16 GB player in terms of songs. This mp3 player has some people calling it the largest "thumb-drive, that plays music" ever. We at Wired In, agree as this mp3 player was great for our geeked out collection of songs, which is in the thousands by the way. The durable finish provides protection from scratches and dents, which is a great plus, as finding a case is not required. The package comes with the mp3 player, headphones (which don't sound too bad), instructional manuals, usb hook up cable and power adapter. For the price, this is a great deal for those who do not wish to spend a large amount of money to get the amount of songs this holds.
