National Park Trails

Virginia's landscape provides many many locations for hiking and walking. The various nature trails throughout the state give visitors many hours of hiking and travelling. Many of these trails feature stops for fishing, lodging, campsites and ranger stations.

While hiking on the trails visitors experience the beauty of nature, with many trails intersecting and paralleling streams, rivers and breathtaking views of the countryside and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The most famous and travelled trail in Virginia is the Appalachian Trail. This trail intersects throughout the entire western portion of the state running parallel to the Blue Ridge Mountains, giving hikers excellent views of the mountains.
