All students are welcome to use the Reading Center. Improve your reading skills for school and work success!
Reading Services
Individual instruction is available by appointment with a reading specialist. In addition, other services are offered such as reading diagnostic testing, speed reading instruction and textbook strategies.
Visitors
Those visiting can:
- Work one-on-one with an instructor to review for tests or increase comprehension strategies as they apply to college reading.
- Learn to decode unfamiliar words.
- Increase awareness of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills to improve performance in subject areas.
- Learn strategies for speed reading.
- Work with reading skills on the computer.
- Develop attitudes of confidence and satisfaction with reading progress.
- Become aware of reading strengths and weaknesses through a variety of formal and informal assessments.
- Improve study skills and critical thinking skills.
- Learn time management skills for organization and goal achievement.
